Know Your Role: Supporting Complainants and Fulfilling Your Duty to Report 

Sport leaders play a critical role in creating safe environments — and that includes knowing what to do when something goes wrong. Join us on June 25th, 2026, from 1:00-2:00pm (ADT) for a free virtual safe sport education delivery facilitated by Samantha Heron, Chief Complaint Officer for ITP Sport.   

This session will build on previous training to strengthen confidence and competence among PSO leadership and club administrators in supporting individuals who disclose concerns. Participants will explore practical scenarios, review available options for complainants, and discuss how to respond in a way that is timely, trauma-informed, and aligned with safe sport obligations. 

Note: The presentation will be delivered in English however simultaneous translation will also be available.

About Samantha: 

Samantha Heron is currently working as the Chief Complaint Officer with ITP Sport, Sport NB’s long-standing independent third-party in complaint management. In her role, Samantha applies principles of conflict resolution and participant-centered approaches to manage complaints and support dispute resolution initiatives. This work involves liaising with stakeholders across various sport organizations to uphold integrity and proactivity in creating safer environments. Her education and extensive experience in this field leverages a strong foundation in psychology and athlete development. Her career trajectory demonstrates a commitment to enhancing participant well-being and promoting equitable opportunities within the Canadian sport sector.
