Sport New Brunswick Announces Two New Brunswick Coaches Selected for the 2027 Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprentice Program 

March 2nd 2026 – Fredericton.  Two coaches from New Brunswick have been selected to be part of the Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Program for the 2027 Canada Winter Games, taking place in Québec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027. 

Amy Caissie of Six Roads (Cross Country Skiing) and Evan Edwards of Moncton (Trampoline/Gymnastics) have been chosen to represent Team New Brunswick in this prestigious national initiative. Both coaches will join their sport’s coaching staff for the 2027 Games, gaining valuable experience that will support their long-term development and career advancement in sport.

The Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Program (WIC) is a collaborative initiative of the Provincial/Territorial Coaching Representatives (PTCRs), the Canada Games Council (CGC), and the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC). The program provides each province and territory with the opportunity to send two women coaches to the Games in apprenticeship roles, building leadership capacity and strengthening the representation of women in coaching across the country. 

Key Highlights

Sport New Brunswick is thrilled to support these two outstanding coaches. Their mentor coaches for the 2027 Canada Games will be Manon Losier of Bathurst (Cross Country Ski) and Rachelle Perry of Dieppe (Trampoline). Both are highly experienced female leaders who have previously coached at the Canada Games and remain deeply involved in provincial sport. They strongly believe in supporting and celebrating coaches throughout their development and will play an integral role in guiding the apprentices throughout this journey.
