SPORT NB 2010 WINTER OLYMPIC    COLORING CONTEST

To show our support for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games Sport NB launched a coloring contest for all students in grades K-5 in the province. Students in grades K-2 were provided coloring pages, made available on the Sport NB website, while students in grades 3-5 created their own picture. All of the entries were put on display in the Sport NB boardroom with every inch being covered! The response was amazing! The Hockey Canada gift package for minor hockey players includes:

Soccer New Brunswick, in conjunction with Codiac Soccer, was pleased to host a Coaches Symposium in January 2010 featuring Montreal Impact’s Head Coach Marc Dos Santos and the Canadian Soccer Association’s Technical Director Dave Benning.

Coaches Corner

The Centre for Coaching Education of New Brunswick would like to introduce the Fundamental Movement Skills workshop. Based upon the fundamental stages of the Canadian Sport for Life model of long-term athlete development, this workshop explores core NCCP themes such as fair play, safety responsibility, and communication with an innovative skill development process. Participants are given the opportunity to practice strategies to improve fundamental movement skills such as throwing, hopping, skipping, jumping, kicking, striking, balancing, catching, and agility.  For more information contact Tyler Smith at   444-3888 or tyler.smith@gnb.ca.
