2009 Pitney Bowes Sport Awards

The 2009 Pitney Bowes Sport Awards took place November 28th at the Crowne Plaza-Lady Beaverbrook Hotel in Fredericton. Over 220 people came out to show their support for New Brunswick's finest athletes, administrators, coaches, and volunteers. The event also helped raise $4000 for KidSport through the Boston Pizza Balloon Pop, silent auction, and basket of cheer. SportNB thanks  everyone who came out to celebrate New Brunswick's best!

News from the NB Sports Hall of Fame

The NBSHF’s Gallery & Exhibit areas are now temporarily closed as the facility located at 503 Queen Street undergoes renovations scheduled to be completed by mid November.  As well, they have some exciting news…the NBSHF will be introducing a variety of interactive exhibits including a 5-in-1 Visual Sports Simulator that will profile hockey, football, baseball, basketball, and soccer.  Stay tuned for information on their Interactive Exhibits ‘Kick-off’ coming in the spring!


Rowers Honored

On October 3rd, the Fredericton rowing club will be celebrating two Olympic alumni: Jane Rumball and Don Dickison with an awards gala at the Delta Fredericton. Please click here for more information

5th Annual McInnes Cooper Dragon Boat Festival


The 5th Annual McInnes Cooper Dragon Boat Festival took place Sunday September 13th. The event featured 24 teams racing in support of KidSportand NB Amateur Athletes. The event raised just over $70,000!! Francis Perry, of the Red Dragons, was named Top Fundraiser raising $2587.30. The Red Dragons were also the Top Fundraising Team raising an impressive $10,144! Race Winners included: McInnes Cooper, Investors Group, The Fredericton Canoe/Kayak Club and the Department of Wellness Culture and Sport. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who supported this great event.
