2011 Pitney Bowes Sport Award
Winners
Sport NB honours recipients of the 2011 Pitney Bowes Sport
Awards
Fredericton
(Saturday, November 26th) – The winners of the
Pitney Bowes Sport Awards were unveiled by Sport NB Saturday
night. Among them, a Judo team that dominated the mat at Canada
Games, a coach who has seen her athletes shatter records, and a
seventeen-year-old wrestler who took Nationals by storm. There
are stories of leaving behind loved ones, Olympic Dreams and
proud parents who have watched their children grow to become
among the very best in their chosen sport.
Over 200 members of the New Brunswick sport community gathered
at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to see Sport NB present the 18th
annual Pitney Bowes Sport Awards. The prestigious sport
recognition event recognized the achievements of the top
athletes, coaches, officials, sponsors, administrators and
volunteers from across the province.
“These individuals – many
of them still very young – represent the best of the best, not
only provincially but on a national and international scale.
Every single nominee sets a great example for not only the
sporting community, but the province as a whole,” said Sport NB
Executive Director Darcy McKillop.
McKillop adds, “Sport NB is very fortunate to have a title
sponsor like Pitney Bowes so we can continue to recognize these
great New Brunswickers for all of their achievements.”
