Sport Arbitration and mediation

The Provincial Sport Arbitration and Mediation for amateur sport is
coordinated by Sport NB and is available to all Sport NB member provincial sport
organizations (PSO) and their athletes, coaches, volunteers and general
members.
Arbitrators/Mediators have the authority to hear a wide variety of
appeals relating to issues of concern to a member PSO such as team/coach
selection, discipline/code of conduct, age/gender and doping infractions.
Appeals of a technical nature will not be heard. All persons affected by the PSO
decision have the right to be heard by the arbitrator.
Why Use PSAS?
Alternative methods to resolve disputes are preferable to
litigation because they can be in-expensive, fast, flexible, confidential and
non-adversarial, and therefore are ideal for many disputes in amateur sport.
Who Can Use the Provincial Sport Arbitration and Mediation program?
All PSO's that have submitted a Letter of Intent to be
part of the system are eligible to use the service.
